Library Mysteries


Phyllis J. Perry has written two library mysteries series. The four books in the Fribble Mouse Library Mystery series are designed for students in the primary grades. In each book there are ten chapters. In each chapter, Fribble Mouse finds a reason to go to the school or public library to find resources to help solve a mystery. These books are available as chapter books or can be purchased in a package with a book and a reproducible teacher guide. The reproducibles contain lessons involving the use of the dictionary, encyclopedia, Guinness Book of World Records, atlas, etc. Third graders can read the stories on their own, or the books can be used as read-alouds. The books in the series are : Mr. Crumb's Secret, The Secret of the Silver Key, The Secrets of the Rock, and The Secrets of the Sea Chest..

 

The two books in the WHAM Agency Library Mystery series are designed for students in third, four and fifth grades. Each of the two books contains ten chapters, and in each chapter Aaron, Dynamike, and Wink (Carlton Winklehockey) find themselves going to the library to use media resources to help solve their neighborhood mysteries. These are available as single paperback books or in a packet that contain a book and a Teacher's Guide with reproducible pages on various library research skills. The books in this series are The Case of the Hidden Masterpiece and The Case of the Three-Legged Buffalo .
